When LCLs arrive at the port of destination, however, the goods inside must be consolidated and sorted before being distributed to different recipients.

An advantage of LCL is that it lets you maintain a lower inventory level, which is ideal for some customers. LCL lets you ship goods in smaller quantities so you have less inventory to worry about and you will need less storage or warehouse space.

An important thing to consider if you decide to go with LCL, however, is that you will have less control over the items being transported. With LCL, you do not have a say in what other items are stored within the same container as your items.

Roll-on, roll-off service (RO-RO)

RO-ROs are vessels that are built to transport wheeled cargo such as cars, trucks, semi-trailers, trailers, railroad cars and motorcycles. The vehicles are driven onto the ship at the point of origin and then off the ship at the destination. Every vehicle is braced, secured, and tied down to ensure maximum protection while in transit.

When compared to container moving, RO-RO is much more budget friendly and is a much easier method of shipment. With RO-RO you avoid having to pay export warehouse expenses that are associated with packing and transporting containers.

The only limitation with RO-RO is tied to your destination. Smaller countries may not support RO-RO international moving options.

Conventional on-deck moving
